A year ago I was writing my first Christmas Card Post to you, blissfully ignorant to the massive life-changing challenge that was waiting for me in early January this year.
Nurse Naomi was hijacked…
I had all sorts of ambitious and exciting ideas for how I wanted the Nurse Naomi Blog to progress over 2014 but as you know, Naomi the Nurse’s blogging space was hijacked by ‘Nurse Naomi the Mum’ early in the year. Most of the posts this year have been about my journey after my daughter Hana had her brain tumour removed as we faced the rapid onset of her Hypothalamic Obesity.
Things that jump out to me from posts this year include THE Oxytocin Discovery and trial…Also my mind opening experiences with Homeopathy are also up there with this year’s big moments when, amazed by the results, I was prompted to start studying to become a homeopath myself.
And what about my children’s books?
My agent and I didn’t find a home for my middle grade time travel series last year (2013) however, early this year we were very close to a deal for another series I’d started writing. This didn’t eventuate but it did lead to an exciting chain of events that I’ve been bursting to tell you about – I somehow managed to keep my mouth shut about it all year! Things are still on schedule for me to FINALLY tell you what this ‘chain of events’ is by the start of 2015. Just waiting on a couple of things to be secured…
2014 has been a shocker of a year, I’m still reeling from it. I still can’t believe it happened, that my healthy, happy little girl survived a tennis ball sized brain tumour and pays for her survival so dearly, every day. This is the kind of thing that only happens to other people…yet it happened to me, to my child.
Our battle for Hana’s health and wellness is far from over – it’s only just begun.
I hope that 2015 will bring a better year for Hana, for me and for the Nurse Naomi blog. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for us. Meanwhile, THANK YOU so much for your ongoing online, love and support and for taking the time to read and for frequently sharing what I have to say. One major help for me this year has been knowing that all around the world there are people rooting for me, for Hana and for our family.
Lots of love and wishes for good health,
Nurse Naomi xx
